Night At The Museum x 2
Half a century of giving back is quite a triumph, and celebrating two 50th anniversaries in one evening is rarer still, but that is exactly what The Field Museum did at its annual gala.
THE PARTY
Heartfelt speeches, video tributes, elegant decor, food and cocktails, and Game 4 of the World Series filled Stanley Field Hall as The Field Museum celebrated the 50th anniversary of both the Women’s Board and Marshall Field V’s board tenure.
THE PEOPLE
Legendary TV anchor Bill Kurtis hosted the evening, which saw more than 600 guests revel in the honorees’ joyful commitment to service, while museum CEO Richard Lariviere announced the founding of the Marshall Field V Award—that will extend the legacy of its namesake for years to come.
THE PINNACLE
Following dinner, persimmon pudding (a Field family favorite) and the evening’s tributes, guests—including many young professionals from The Field Associates—ventured into two of the museum’s newest exhibits, Tattoo and China’s First Emperor and His Terracotta Warriors. The annual gala raised more than $2 million to help support the Field’s many endeavors. It was indeed a fun and philanthropic night at the museum. ‒Ben Rains
