Mildred Marie Langford stars as Esther in Intimate Apparel at Northlight Theatre this spring
SEE Mildred Marie Langford returns to Northlight Theatre this month for a role she says she’s admired for years. Intimate Apparel tells the story of an African-American seamstress in 1905 New York City trying to build a future. “She’s looking for love and to get out of the circumstances she’s in,” Langford says. “She has these huge dreams, but there’s always that inner struggle of not being able to have what you desire.” March 12-April 19, tickets $30-$89, 9501 Skokie Blvd., Skokie

TASTE Spirit Elephant, the plant-based restaurant in Winnetka, is now open for dinner, with lunch soon to follow. “We are very excited to showcase the advantages of incorporating seasonality into our menu,” says executive chef Renan Lopes.
