THE PARTY The energetic violinists, CoverGirls, lit up the cocktail reception at the Hilton on South Michigan Avenue as guests gathered to pay tribute to the more than 210,000 Illinois residents living with Alzheimer’s. THE PEOPLE All eyes were on Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, Rita Hayworth’s daughter, as she mixed through the soiree. Many special contributors attended this year, including Dr. Lisa Genova, the New York Times best-selling author of Still Alice. Genova was commended for her efforts in shedding light on the disease through the book and award-winning movie. Also welcoming the guests was Fox Chicago’s Dawn Hasbrouck, who made a special appearance to assist with the live auction. THE PINNACLE The gala, which was themed Time is of the Essence, raised more than $1 million for patient care and research initiatives, which makes the Chicago gala one of the organization’s largest in the nation. Clearly, it was a night to remember. –Photos by Bill Richert Photography
