It was a celebration of music, education and culture at this year’s Ravinia Women’s Board Gala.
THE PARTY On a beautiful summer evening, more than 600 guests joined the Ravinia Women’s Board for its annual black-tie gala. The evening raised nearly $1 million for Ravinia’s educational outreach program Reach*Teach*Play, which provides instruments, teachers and music programs to Chicagoland elementary schools. THE PEOPLE The night’s festivities were overseen by gala chairs Judy Konen and Michele Ihlanfeldt and Women’s Board chair Judy Castellini. Also making the evening a singing success were the efforts of Frost Chicago and Revel Decor, who designed the tented space and tablescapes. THE PINNACLE The highlight of this event is always the concert, and this year proved to be exceptional when Audra McDonald took the stage with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The winner of a record-breaking six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards and an Emmy Award, McDonald graced the crowd with Gershwin, Sondheim, Loesser and more. The evening was a testament to keeping music in our lives and in our schools. -Nick Moutvic
