Purse-suing the Cure

| January 20, 2016 | Parties National

THE PARTY Celebrating 30 amazing years, the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation’s annual Fall Benefit Luncheon took place at the Hilton Chicago in a ballroom decorated for the 1,000-plus guests by Tom Kehoe of Kehoe Designs. THE PEOPLE The keynote speaker was the very talented and funny Maya Rudolph, who was interviewed by talk show host Catie Lazarus. However, the most touching speakers of the afternoon were the charming granddaughters of the founding members of LSCRF. Talia Kantor Lieber, Gracie Goldstein and Sloane Freese exemplified the importance of finding a cure. THE PINNACLE The Purse-sue the Cure silent auction featured designer purses galore, with more than 360 new and collectible handbags by Tom Ford, Hermès, Céline, Gucci and Chanel. Between the auction and the luncheon, the event raised $1.24 million—using the power of the purse to change the future of women’s health care. –Photos by Sheri Whitko
