Poolside Music

| October 4, 2013 | Parties National

THE PARTY The Board of the Pilgrim Chamber Players hosted its annual summer fete entitled A Poolside
Music Benefit at the Winnetka home of its president, James H. Stone. THE HIGHLIGHTS More than 130 guests attended the afternoon benefit, enjoying delectables and drinks served by the pool and gardens. The silent auction included tickets to Lyric Opera and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and a JPMorgan Chase Art Tour and lunch in Chase’s private dining room. The Gray Duo, featuring Erika Gray on violin and Johannes Gray on cello, delighted the guests with a concert. Selections included works by Sarasate, Paganini, Bartok and Kodaly. THE BOTTOM LINE Founded 16 years ago by pianist Carol Honigberg of Highland Park, the Pilgrim Chamber Players give four concerts per year and one free concert featuring talented young musicians from the Chicago area. This year’s summer event raised more than $25,000 that will benefit next season’s young talent showcase and the group’s outreach programs. Photography by Bonnie Robinson
