Journey to Evanston
Northlight Theatre hosted its gala themed, A Remarkable Journey, with a night of song and good cheer.
It was a lively group of theater lovers who gathered at the Woman’s Club of Evanston to celebrate how far Northlight Theatre has come and to dream about what is next for this powerhouse of creative programming. The evening started with cocktails and a silent auction that included a bevy of theater tickets and one-of-a-kind hosted parties. It moved on to a seated dinner and energetic auction.
Legendary TV anchor and spokesperson Bill Kurtis served as the evening’s master of ceremonies, with past board Presidents Paul Finnegan, Paul Lehman, Evelyn Salk and Trimmy Stamell serving as honorary hosts.
The sold-out event raised $175,000-plus for the theater’s productions and programs. That success was highlighted by the musical entertainment, whose four-part harmony paid tribute to both musical theater and journeys near and far. At the end of the evening, all raised a glass to toast the ongoing success of Northlight Theatre’s creative endeavors. Cheers! ‒Laura Hine
