Jessica Margot Federighi and Elizabeth Scott are the powerhouse women behind Margot Scott, a bespoke furniture collaboration launching this fall. Celebrated designers in their own right, the North Shore duo created Margot Scott as a stable of core pieces to suit every client—not just their own.
Margot Scott’s first collection showcases six items “crafted from wood so beautiful you look at it and want to touch it,” Federighi marvels. The founders’ extensive industry experience and design pedigree are evident in the versatility and classic aesthetic of the line. Having children has also influenced their brand. “As parents, we understand what families need—items that are practical and useful,” Scott notes. “Understanding this gives us an advantage in the furniture industry.”
For this client-focused pair, quality at a midrange price is paramount. “Our line offers high attention to detail and proportion that you don’t typically get at this price point,” reflects Scott. “It is hard to hit our price point when furniture is made locally,” Federighi adds, “and it makes me proud that our line is built by local tradesmen.”
Margot Scott is tailored to client specifications and offered in three luxe finishes: mink, ash and hazelnut. “One stain,” Scott recalls, “I redid 10 times because we wanted it just right.” It is this attention to detail that defines Margot Scott. Federighi foresees that “in 10 years, clients will still look at our furniture and love it. The integrity of each piece is everything to us.” $2,000-$7,000, margot-scott.com
