The Wood Family Foundation’s second annual Storybook Gala proved that all it takes is a little faith, trust and pixie dust to make miracles.
THE PARTY
Guests revisited their days spent chasing shadows during the Wood Family Foundation’s gala Journey to Neverland, complete with London street decor, pixie dust, red feathers and pirates. The night’s premium cocktail hour, formal dinner and eclectic entertainment kept the magic flowing until morning.
THE PEOPLE
The foundation’s founders, Sarah and Kerry Wood, showed over 320 guests off to Neverland. Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts, Wintrust President and CEO Bill Lynch and actress Bonnie Hunt were among those to take flight.
THE PINNACLE
The gala and its live auction—including an exclusive day at Wrigley Field with Kerry Wood, an opportunity to watch live tapings of Saturday Night Live and Good Morning America, and private escapes to Tuscany and Costa Rica—raised over $500,000 for the Wood Family Foundation’s youth mentoring program. A true fairy-tale ending.‒Nicole Ross
