Making a Difference

| July 17, 2013 | Parties National

THE PARTY For the past 24 years, the Women’s Board of Catholic Charities of Lake County has hosted the Art of Caring event to raise a bounty of funds for persons in need of food, clothing, shelter and employment. Held at Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park, this year’s benefit was no exception. THE HIGHLIGHTS A cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, live and silent auctions, and a paddle raise made for an exciting night for more than 200 guests. The luxurious items auctioned off included a seven-night vacation in sunny Cabo San Lucas, two tickets to the 2014 Super Bowl in New York and a one-week stay in a cozy Aspen condo. The grand raffle prize was a trip of choice to Paris, Rome and Florence, or Barbados. The benefit raised more than $265,000 to help Catholic Charities continue its important work in Lake County.
