The Women’s Board of the Lyric Opera of Chicago hosted its annual and always-spectacular Opening Night Gala Benefit and Opera Ball at the Hilton Chicago for some 550 opera-lovers.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
Guests gathered at the Civic Opera House for a reception, which preceded the dramatic performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s Otello, as well as during intermission, for a memorable evening that drew a near-capacity audience of more than 3,300 attendees. The lavish Opera Ball that followed the performance featured a Grand March, elegant dining and dancing to The Stu Hirsh Orchestra.
THE BOTTOM LINE
The evening raised $900,000 for the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
