Lyric Opera Wine Auction celebrated a milestone 30th anniversary with cheers for many more.
THE PARTY Those with a passion for philanthropy, fine arts and wine collecting gathered for the 30th anniversary of the Lyric Opera Wine Auction. Attendees started the evening with an elegant reception and silent auction before enjoying a lovely dinner. While they dined, they also had the opportunity to participate in the exciting live auction. THE PEOPLE Wine Auction 2018 was led by co-chairs Nancy Searle and Keith Goldstein, who proclaimed first-growth Bordeaux Château Margaux, the Honored Guest of Wine. The evening also honored Shirley Welsh Ryan for her extraordinary vision in overseeing the first auction during her tenure as president. THE PINNACLE Guests had the chance to bid on a record-breaking 66 live auction lots and 138 silent lots, featuring rare wines, luxury travel experiences and amazing dining packages. The auctions boasted more than 1,000 bottles of wine, with 19 perfect 100-point wines. With nearly 500 guests attending from around the world—plus those who participated electronically—the 30th Lyric Opera Wine Auction was a soaring success. -Leah Pentecost
