The Jewish United Fund’s Young Leadership Division drew a large crowd at its annual Big Event fundraiser.
THE PARTY Close to 2,000 eventgoers laughed it up at the Sheraton Grand Chicago hotel thanks to in-demand comedy duo Key & Peele. After the performance and dinner, the party moved to the Loews Chicago Hotel for midnight snacks, dancing and conversation. THE PEOPLE In addition to the fun and laughs, the evening celebrated the work of the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago, a group dedicated to providing services and support for those in the Jewish community. Speakers at the event included 2017 Young Leadership Division Campaign Chair Katie Berger and President Orly Henry. THE PINNACLE Comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are best known for their Emmy Award-winning show on Comedy Central, Key & Peele, and for Peele’s hit movie Get Out, which he wrote and directed. Key & Peele stole the show with hilarious improv sketches and witty stories about their careers. In addition to their performance, the duo got personal during an onstage chat with Annoyance Theatre founder and The Second City director Mick Napier. The night raised over $200,000—a testament to the power of shared laughter. -Katlyn Tolly
