Morgan Manufacturing scores a fun evening.
The Party
The night got off to an appropriately sporty start with a converted dance floor near the entrance of Morgan Manufacturing serving as a mini soccer field, where players from Otis Elementary School showed off their moves. Though tempted to join in, the almost 1,000 partygoers moved on to the open bars, photo booths, dance floor and food stations—which were staffed by some of Lettuce Entertain You’s most popular restaurants, like Hub 51, RPM Italian and Summer House.
The People
With the organization’s motto, “Teamwork makes the dream work,” in mind, Connie Falcone, a board member of Urban Initiatives and the director of community affairs for the Chicago Cubs, gave volunteer Will Reichert, a senior at Loyola Academy, the Paula Armstrong Memorial Heart of a Champion Award.
Best in Show
The evening raised $480,000 to support Urban Initiatives’ health, education and character development programs at 38 Chicago public schools. It’s nice when adults having fun can support programs for kids to learn, play and, definitely, have fun. –Photos by Jonathan Mathias
