| January 3, 2013 | Parties National

The Party A sold-out crowd of more than 400 business and community leaders from the North Shore and Chicago attended the Glitter Ball, the North Shore Board of the Northwestern Settlement’s annual gala held at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. The Scene Guests enjoyed live music by the Party Faithful Band. A professional auctioneer oversaw a lively paddle raise followed by a live auction that included luxury vacations, jewelry and even an adorable puppy. The Players North Shore board president Mary Carter introduced a moving video of House in the Wood campers and testimonials from their parents. Winnetka residents Hillary Priest, Julie Rocap and Maureen Sullivan were this year’s benefit co-chairs, and were assisted by 60-plus board members residing on the North Shore and in Chicago. The Bottom Line The event raised more than $300,000, which provides tuition to more than 350 low-income children from the greater Chicago area who attend the House in the Wood camp in Delevan, Wis., each summer.
