Evanston Celebrates

| January 27, 2015 | Parties National

The Party
With the largest turnout to date, the Celebrate!Evanston fundraiser brought over 300 guests to the Michigan Shores Club in Wilmette to benefit the Evanston Community Foundation. Guests snacked on hors d’oeuvres and sipped signature mango cocktails to start the evening.

The People
NBC reporter Christian Farr and ECF board member Kevin Mott co-emceed the program and live auction. State Rep. Robyn Gabel made an appearance in a hilarious parody of The Wizard of Oz to support the group’s investment in the community. “Evanston is our home, our mission and our cause,” ECF CEO Sara Schastok told the crowd.

Best In Show
The event raised more than $246,000 with sponsorship support and contributions from community partners, like Evanston’s top pastry chefs, who donated elaborate and whimsical cakes. That spirit of togetherness is why supporters call it Heavanston! –Photos by Jill Brazel
