Camp Fire

| April 16, 2015 | Parties National

The Party
This inaugural event, hosted by the Chicago board, was held at Chicago’s Redmoon Theater. The talented performers from Redmoon served wine from decorated vintage bicycles, and an aerial performer filled Champagne coupes—often while suspended upside down. The event raised nearly $435,000, which is enough to provide free summer camp experiences for nearly 1,500 children.

The People
Susanna Negovan, a contributor to Fox 32 News’ Good Day Chicago, hosted the event. Katie Sweeney, who has been both a camper and counselor at Camp Kesem, shared the story of her mother’s battle with cancer and what Camp Kesem has meant to her family.

Best in Show
The evening encouraged guests to remember those lost to cancer by creating a luminary in honor of someone they love, but there was also plenty of joy. Guests relived the fun of camp with bonfires and camp names. It was a magical night to ensure kids have a magical summer. –Photos courtesy of T & S Hughes Photography
