Singer Colbie Caillat entertained an A-list crowd at this year’s Breakthrough Ball.
THE PARTY Advocates enjoyed an evening in support of cancer research at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago to celebrate the 51st annual Breakthrough Ball with the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation Women’s Board. THE PEOPLE Guests were treated to an exclusive performance by Colbie Caillat, who dedicated a song to the research foundation board’s executive director, Mary Ellen Connellan, in honor of her retirement. The dance floor filled as DJ Megan Taylor spun evening beats alongside a live violinist. THE PINNACLE The record-breaking paddle raise and silent auction included one-of-a-kind experiences like a shopping spree and private dinner from Ralph Lauren, and luxury jeweler Verdura contributed a much-coveted 18K gold Curb-Link bracelet. All of these helped the event raise $1.5 million toward cancer research funding. -Jacquelyn Lumley
