Celebrating its 15th year, the Preview Evening for the Antiques, Garden & Design Show put a spring into partygoers’ steps.

THE PARTY
The beautiful scenery of the Chicago Botanic Garden once again served as the backdrop for the Antiques, Garden & Design Show. Limelight Catering created the event’s elegant and creatively served fare—we loved the garden fence covered with portable hors d’oeuvres—while partygoers enjoyed drinks and browsed the displays showcasing beautiful botanicals and stylish living.

THE PEOPLE
More than 700 guests gathered for the show, which has come to be known as the “ribbon cutting of spring,” and to mingle with esteemed interior decorator and honorary chair Mario Buatta, and also cultural landscape historian and writer Mac Griswold.

BEST IN SHOW
The show, which was revamped and renamed this year, was a total success, highlighted by gorgeous interior landscapes designed by Craig Bergmann and the chance for attendees to shop the 80-plus handpicked vendors. Featured goods ranged from garden antiques to midcentury-modern furniture to fine jewelry designs from around the United States and Europe. The evening topped off with an incredible $200,000 raised to support the Chicago Botanic Garden’s conservation, education and research programs. A fitting kickoff to the garden season, indeed! -Photos by Cheri Eisenberg
