Beach Party

| October 1, 2012 | Parties National

The Party Guests gathered at the home of Carla and Bill Young in Winnetka to learn the findings of the National Resources Defense Council’s (NRDC) annual beach water quality report. The Scene The setting, overlooking the beach on Lake Michigan, served as a perfect backdrop for Henry Henderson, NRDC’s Midwest Program director, and Amanda Hanley, NRDC’s Midwest Council co-chair and longtime Winnetka resident, to encourage guests to embrace natural solutions, such as rain gardens and permeable pavements, to remedy basement flooding problems.
