The sweetest event of the year is the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation’s Be My Valentine party.
THE PARTY The Drake Hotel was as sweet as can be for the 10th annual Be My Valentine family event. The lively extravaganza featured the Jesse White Tumblers performing awe-inspiring aerials while DJ Versage kept the guests on the dance floor. In between, there was plenty of time for guests to bid on silent auction prizes provided by the Chicago Blackhawks, J. Toor and SoulCycle Southport. THE PEOPLE More than 490 attendees of all ages gathered to support the foundation thanks to event co-chairs and hosts Sarna Lee Goldenberg, Libby Langsdorf and Jennifer Meyers. THE PINNACLE The party encouraged guests to show off their creativity. Sweet Mandy B’s provided a cookie-decorating station for children and their parents, while Sew Crafty Studio offered creative projects and Pixi Girl Parties turned children’s faces into art canvases. When it was time for refreshments, grown-ups found a prosecco bar while kids customized their hot chocolate, and everyone enjoyed the waffle bar, chicken lollipops and pastries at the brunch buffet. The event raised more than $89,000 for breast cancer research, fellowships and education programs. What a delight! -Gabrielle Zepeda
