The Les Turner ALS Foundation and author Jonathan Eig celebrate Wendy Abrams with an elegant evening of fun and festivity.

Dressed to impress, supporters of the Les Turner ALS Foundation came out in full force to The Ritz Carlton Chicago for its 28th Hope Through Caring Award Dinner. The soiree is the standout event of the season for the foundation, which provides education about ALS, as well as research and patient care.

Honoring longtime executive director Wendy Abrams, best-selling author Jonathan Eig energetically emceed the evening while nearly 500 guests enjoyed a gourmet dinner, silent auction, paddle raise and video presentation. By the end of the evening, more than $520,000 was raised for the organization.

All eyes were on Andrea Pauls Backman, Abrams’ predecessor, who gave an emotional speech highlighting Abrams’ tireless commitment and unwavering passion for the cause while sharing her own personal story of having lost her mother to the disease. A simply stunning (and inspiring) event! -Photos by Jean Lachat
